Learning, and then practicing the art of stillness, in which we cultivate tranquil states of mind and body, has the potential to transform not only our minds but our lives. Scientific studies are revealing that meditation can help us to respond to the stresses of life with greater equanimity and presence, as well as reduce depression, anxiety and worry. Our brains are now known to be mutable throughout the lifespan, and the practice of stillness can influence how the brain changes, in the direction of greater mental stability and toward an increased sense of well-being.

Margaret Huff

Margaret has been learning and practicing Yoga for over 30 years, receiving her first formal training in the Kripalu tradition in 1996. She taught yoga and studied Body-Centered Psychotherapy with Yoga and Hakomi therapist, Donna Martin in the 1990's and 2000's. In 2005, she opened a yoga studio, the Mind-Body Connection, in Kamloops. Four years later, she took up a second formal teacher training in the eight-limbed approach to yoga at the Salt Spring Centre for Yoga.
